石川県小松市を拠点に活動する陶芸作家・藤﨑千尋氏の個展を開催いたします。本展では、飾り皿、花器、食器(碗、皿など)、約２００点の出展を予定しております。この機会にぜひお立ち寄りください。

主に、ろくろ成型で形を作り自作の釉薬をかけて食器など暮らしの道具を制作しています。道具の必要とされて生まれた形であることと、それ単体では完結しないところに魅力を感じます。ここ数年、絵の入った器に挑戦しています。古典が好きなので、唐草紋様の組み方とか、配置など、様式をお借りしています。モチーフはいわゆる雑草が多くて、特定の植物というよりは色々な植物が生き生きと茂って、その中に小動物や虫が隠れている風景を描きたいと思っています。食器は、サイズ感や形状などでいちおうの答え(盛り付けるもの等)が準備されているけど、その過程は自由に想像できるのがなぞなぞみたいで面白いなと思い、今回のタイトルにしてみました。絵の中に動物は何匹いるでしょう！もなぞなぞですが、歴史の中では贈り物として渡される絵の器に、自分と相手だけが分かる祝辞が込められたり、ときには暗号のように潜んでいる何かがあったりするのが絵の器を見る醍醐味だと思っています。色々ななぞなぞを準備しようと思うので、気楽に楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいなと思います。（藤﨑千尋）

We are pleased to announce a solo exhibition by ceramic artist Chihiro Fujisaki, who is based in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture. This exhibition is scheduled to feature approximately 200 pieces, including decorative plates, vases, and tableware (bowls, plates, etc.). We hope you will take this opportunity to visit us.

Mainly, I create the forms using a potter’s wheel and produce everyday tools such as tableware with glazes that I make myself. I am fascinated by the fact that the form is born out of necessity as a tool, and that it is not complete by itself. In recent years, I have been challenging myself with vessels that feature paintings. I am fond of classical styles, so I borrow arrangements and placements of arabesque patterns and other styles. The motifs are mostly what would be considered weeds; rather than depicting a specific plant, I want to depict various plants growing vigorously, with small animals and insects hidden among them. Tableware has a sort of predetermined answer in terms of size and shape (what you can serve on or in them), but the process can be freely imagined, which I find puzzlingly interesting, and this inspired the title for this exhibition. ‘How many animals are in the painting?’ is also a kind of puzzle, but historically, in painted vessels given as gifts, congratulatory messages known only to the giver and receiver, or sometimes something hidden like a code, are embedded, and I think that is one of the joys of viewing painted vessels. I plan to prepare various puzzles, so I would be happy if you enjoy them casually. (Chihiro Fujisaki)

2015: Graduated from Kanazawa College of Art, Craft Department (Ceramics), Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture
Engaged in Kutani ware at a kiln in Ishikawa Prefecture
2018: Established an independent studio named Yo-yo
2019: Completed the Practical Course (Forming) at Ishikawa Prefectural Kutaniyaki Technical Training Institute
2020: Worked as a temporary instructor at Ishikawa Prefectural Kutaniyaki Technical Training Institute
Currently: Creating works in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture
